Mrs. Adella Johnson, 57, widow of Dr. Thomas Johnson died at her home in Ben Davis on Thursday morning last. Funeral services on Monday at the Shirley Funeral Home in Indianapolis were in charge of Rev. Howard Anderson, pastor of the Speedway Christian Church. Burial in Crown Hill. She was the daughter of Dick and Lydia Right (sic) Garland. Dr. Johnson died January 5, 1940. There is one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Reeder. Mr. and Mrs. Reeder have been making their home with her mother. Mrs. Johnson spent a part of her girlhood in Waveland. Those attending the funeral were TM Garland Mrs. JD Fisher; Mrs. Nina William and Mr. and Mrs. TN Johnson from Waveland and John Johnson and Miss Esther and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Johnson from Crawfordsville. - transcribed by kbz
